Dental tips, news and insights

Here at Parkfield Dental we are extremely proud of all of our team members, and so we thought that it was about time that we properly introduced you to them.

In this post we focus on Dr. Joanne Ingleby, who brings great patient care and service to the practice!

Jo always does her utmost to make sure that patient visits are as relaxed, comfortable and painless as possible. She has developed a large group of very loyal patients by giving patients more control during treatment, from choosing their own music, to raising a hand if needing to stop for whatever reason. This reduces patient anxiety.

‘I was recommended to come and see Jo and the team by friends of mine who were already patients here. I’m so happy I did, as 9 years later my teeth have never looked or felt so good. I always get a cheery hello when I arrive and friendly cheerio when I leave. Plus Jo is always very understanding of my aversion to metal fillings. Thanks Jo!’

Dr. Joanne Ingleby graduated from Leeds University in 1989 and joined Parkfield Dental Practice as an associate in 1997. Jo has enjoyed teaching and research positions at dental schools in Liverpool, Manchester, and Baltimore in the USA. She was awarded her postgraduate qualification by the University of Manchester in 1994.

Jo loves the variety of work here at Parkfield. She enjoys performing restorative dentistry and cosmetic dentistry, and always strives to deliver a dental service with the highest standard of patient care possible. Jo understands that coming to the dentist isn’t always fun and takes satisfaction in putting people at ease and giving them a more enjoyable dentist experience.

‘After an accident to my seven year old boy’s adult front tooth, Jo and Jade are the superheroes in his eyes. Thank you Jo and Jade for making his visit relaxing, stress-free and enjoyable. You are simply fabulous!’

Jo enjoys the process of designing and transforming a patient’s smile.  She will listen carefully to what you want, take photos and together with you plan your treatment. Jo uses varied techniques from teeth whitening  and white fillings, to dental veneers to crowns to give patients the smile they’ve always wanted

Joanne has also undergone extensive restorative courses in these fields to broaden her depth of knowledge and experience. Jo has a special interest in root canal therapy and saving teeth that would otherwise need to be removed.

‘I’ve been attending parkfield for years and Jo has really looked after me, I would have no hesitation in recommending her and the practice to friends and family.’

Jo is very interested in helping people reduce or stop snoring and improving their sleep quality. She works closely in association National Sleep Centres for the reduction of sleep apnoea.  Jo has learnt first-hand the benefits of wearing a mandibular advancement appliance- as her husband was previously a very loud snorer –Since wearing a mandibular appliance, he now “barely purrs” and wakes up refreshed. Reduction of snoring improves the quality of life for both the snorer and their loved ones!

Jo enjoys spending time with her family and her dog when she isn’t hard at work providing excellent dental care. She loves good music, good food, and spending time relaxing with friends and family.
